Hair care after holi
Hi
There is no festival more vibrant, colourful and exhilarating than Holi. The consequence of Holi in not just spoilt clothes and floors, but skin and hair damage too due to the presence of chemicals in the colours used. The colors make your skin and hair dry. The colors can make your hairs brittle and extremely dry for a long time. This is due to the chemicals in the colours and the dust in the air.
I will share some tips which will be helpful to you in reducing the after-effects of holi colors from your hairs. To discourage hair loss and fall due to harsh chemicals in the holi colors, here are some remedies.
- Apply almond oil and olive oil to your hair every night.
- Soak fenugreek seeds in 4 tablespoon of curd then apply to hair or apply yellow of egg to the scalp for 30 minutes. Then wash away with shampoo.
- Mix 1 tablespoon of vinegar to 3 tablespoon of oil and apply it to the hair. This will provide strength to your hair.
- Make a hair pack with multani mitti or Fuller's earth mixed with amla or Indian gooseberry powder and shikakai powder. Apply this pack on your hairs and leave it for 20 minutes than wash it off. Do not shampoo your hairs for that day.
- I am using SBL’s Montana shampoo and oil. Believe it, this shampoo and oil are best gift for your hairs. It will re-strengthen your hairs and stop hair fall occurred due to harsh chemicals used in holi colors.
- Protection for colored hairs: Holi colors will spoil your hair color and damage hair texture. If you had your hairs colored than you need to be extra protective from harsh holi color chemicals. Go for herbal hair packs of brands like Biotique’s Musk root and Emami’s Hair life. Both hair packs are of good quality and give extra protection and required deep conditioning.
- Chemicals in holi colors can also cause pimples on your hair scalp which can be very itchy and irritant. You should use any neem (margosa) based shampoo such as Biotique’s Bio margosa. If you do not find this shampoo in your near by store than use neem water for last hair rinse. Boil neem leaves in normal tap water. Let it cool than strain and use it for hair rinse. Only use medicated shampoo. If problem persists than visit your doctor.
